i was warned by Martha yesterday that Pinkies is a tough team. She had bruises after the game. I thought, tough...should be ok but I was wrong.
the game seemed to be like a contact rugby, seeing my teammates being pushed till she hugged and fell together with the boards...not once but i think twice or thrice. clamped our sticks in between their arms, squeezing my players by the boards till she got no space but to fall off the board, stepping and trying to trip me. thats not contact rugby, that's more of a dirty play. i think some players do played a lil dirty.
i felt this game wasn't really about testing our physical strength but more of the mental part. i felt that the team lost slightly in the mental part. we reacted too much to them, reacted too much to the refs called and losing our cool after being pushed. so what if its not a foul? so what if the player pushed you but the ref didn't blow? just get the ass up and continue. why wait for that 'prrrreeeeeeeeeettttttt' sound and lost few precious seconds? yes, i do understand that we do get pissed after continous pushed, slashed, tripped and not blowed for but we just need to maintain our cool and focus on the game. why lose our focus on those unnecessary (maybe not so unnecessary) stuff? maybe ref didn't see the foul (though there are some obvious ones), they don't have 5 eyes...they only have 2 and have to see like 10 crazy people running around. why be like C.Ronaldo when we can be like....errmmm....Messi, Gerrard?? ref do make some bad calls, but what can we do? be like that gal who threw the ball at the ref or be like Drogba and scold vulgarities to the ref? where's the respect and the sportmanship? why not you try to be a ref and see how it goes. see how well you can ref the game. is it difficult to play to the whistle? maybe i'm trained on that such that i do feel that i played to the whistle.
50-50 situation and i won the ball and this blardy player stepped the back of my leg and tried to trip me but..hahaha...she didn't managed to make me fall. i can choose to turn and scold her or i can ignore and continue playing, i chose the latter. why waste my effort on that when i can direct my energy on other things. maybe some people get angry and direct those anger on being more aggresive. but shouting to ref and opponents? errmmm......not cool. some players react differently. for me, i chose to remain calm and cool. maybe we were too pissed that we can't control our emotional. i think that is how fights in game occurs and why Drogba scolded the ref. but in all, it shows that you have no respect to the opponent, ref or even yourself.
i seriously cannot understand those players. if you cannot tackle those situation calmly, then i guess team sports is not meant for you. why not try some sports which don't require any contacts with the opponent or go try golf where ref don't make the call. they were so emo. banging sticks as though she don't like the stick. tsktsk.
now, i slightly understand what Jill meant when she said we were mentally weak during one of our IVP games. i thought, i saw it today. this game can reveal a player's character. how you actually tackle the situation. break or just get stronger. but the part about rising to the occasion, i still cannot get it....hhhhmmmm....
results do matter but what's the point winning it while playing dirty? people have eyes and can see which is the better team. surely they cannot win the 'fair play award'. i think Tempest can win that. hahaha....the opponent have no sportsmanship, why must we follow them?
what's on court should be left on court. i think they knew the way they played ,that's why they said that. scared that we'll bashed them up outside. hahaha.
on the other hand, i do congratulate Tempest for being able to maintain our cool on court. we don't go around tripping, clamping sticks under our arm or hitting the opponents because we were pissed. but the shouting by the benches to the ref (except for coaches), i thought that wasn't cool though it helped a lil bit. almost all teams are like that.erm...maybe to me, cool and calm is the way.
anyway, had couple of chances but couldn't convert it. shot was off target! urgh! i seriously think i cannot shot from that side!! must continue to practice and polish it.
in conclusion, i survived the game in one piece with little or no bruises. hahahah
will we be able to end it the same way as how we started it?
btw, not looking forward to tmr's PvP.
Anyway, Happy Birthday mummy! though i know you will not read this. =)
