Floorball adds colour to my Uni life

I'm always full of ideas when i'm on my bed trying very hard to sleep. My brain just cannot stop thinking. So ya, I have to pen down all my thoughts since i'm lazy to switch on my dearest lappy. As i wrote this down (not typing it), its 3.45am.

Floorball adds colour to my Uni life.
When i first started my undergraduate studies 3 years ago (OMG! time really flies!), I have never thought of joining any ECA. My initial plan was to study hard and graduate with good honours. As what people said, we, humans plan but God is the one who decides it. The worst thing was that I told some of my hockey friends, "Carrying floorball stick is not as cool as hockey stick". See la, who asked me to talk big?

All that changed, thanks to my friend who dragged me down to a floorball trial. Once i reached there, i knew i have to do well to get into the team. That was the moment where my love for floorball begins. Now, floorball is part of my life. And carrying floorball stick is cool. =)

Through floorball, I made a lot of friends. My social circle widens. They are not only my teammates, they are my friends. Good, close friends whom i can trust when we talked about something that should be kept within ourselves. I felt I am closer to my floorball friends. I feel great when I'm with them.

I have to admit that I am not a smart person to begin with. My hardwork, of course with the help of God, I am where I am now. Honestly, sometimes when i hang around with my coursemates, I felt that I am the stupidest person on earth. However, that's not the case when I'm with my floorball friends. Academic stuff is nowhere near us. It is as though we hit them like a floorball ball, as hard as we can to the corner of the court or even out of the court. I find joy in floorball. Call me pathetic or what cos it is as though my life revolves around floorball. That's the truth.

At this age, i felt my coaches are not only a coach. They are my friends, my mentor. On court, they are your coach, 'yes coach, yes Alvin, yes Jill.' When we're out of court, they are my friends (I hope so). When they stop coaching your team, they exist as your friend. Someone who somehow have touched your life. It may not be big but is has touched, left a small print somewhere in your heart.

I have never regret making this decision. Sacrificing my time and energy, running and sweating on court. My studies were a lil affected, but ya, I still never regret it. At least, when I graduate, I have something to look back and say, "I have a wonderful and interesting Uni life."
With sacrifices, it is much sweeter.

This is just the first part of my free flow thoughts. Shall type it out the others tomorrow.

Okaaaaayss....my lower body is really aching. sitting and standing up is a lil problem. sianz! must recover by Tuesday afternoon!

made my way down to TSH to watch Storm's game. Met Diana on the 168 bus. To kill time, she marked her sec 1 tutees' composition. OMG! its really entertaining reading their writings. sec 1 and you still write like that....gg.
Some of the examples i can remember. They were suppose to write about their friend who met and accident.

I opened the cardboard and all my clothes......

There was a big drain with a bit depth of water.....

She found a five dollars note. She was in a dreamland.... You found a $5 and you're in your lala world. $5?????

A husband who killed himself because his wife didn't believed him...where's the link?
She read the deleted message her husband sent to her (by sms)...
she found a way to retrieve deleted message?

since when there's past tense for the word long. longed. haahaah.

There were more than that. It was indeed very entertaining. Laughed through out the journey. haiz......

aching!

OMG! My body is aching. really really aching. especially my stomach area and the leg. I guess must be the 9 static exercises we did during the 13SS workshop. plus didn't do proper cool down. gosh!

New blogskin! simple and plain. i like.

Gosh, I'm really tired. All I want to do now is to be on my bed. Less than 4 hours of sleep and floorball early in the morning which stretches all the way till 4pm, not a good combination. seriously bad idea. shag! Who's fault is it? My fault for not sleeping early last night. But how to sleep when my mind doesn't want to take a rest?

Anyhow, I love my Saturday! 13SS workshop in the morning and IVP training in the afternoon. though its tiring, i loike! Don't need to follow my parents for Hari Raya visiting. weehoo! Was late for the workshop. overslept. Edmund told me taking bus from Clementi to ITE Mp will be faster. yeap, it was pretty fast BUT just now, i have to wait for freaking 22minutes for the bus! seriously, 22 minutes! stupid 154 service! by the time i boarded the bus, it was 8.40am. Reached at about 9.30am, then joined them for PT. 9 stations of static exercises. Then its floorball time! played 3v3...i think i did pretty well and i felt i played better on the right. hmmm...should try to play on the right. did some drills. drills were kinda familiar. =) After that, rush of to the ulu island of NTU for IVP training.

Court @ SRC is not available, thanks to Heritage Walk. After the frantic search for alternatives, finally we managed to use Hall 3 function hall for training. though its small, its much better than that of hall 7. 11 players turn up. didn't do much. played Alvin and the Chipmunk game (actually monkey game), then 2v2 and we finish off with 1v1. 2v2 was great. pair up with SherylS. working on our chemistry. think we're doing pretty well together. weehoo!

super shag. slept on the 199 bus. then fall asleep again on mrt on the way home, saw families, friends out for Hari Raya visiting. didn't bother me that i don't go for visiting. lazy la. go visiting, all i do is stuff myself with kuih and all sort of drinks. no way! hours of fat burning activities and all i will do during visitings is to balance it back. NO WAY! stay at home, slack, do work (work??????? crap!).

Yesterday was the supposedly Get-To-Know Each Other BBQ session. Don't think we really met our overall objective but the most important thing was for everyone to have fun. i think they do enjoy themselves especially in the Bingo game and Big Small game. Didn't know Bingo can be stressful too. Not only that, writing numbers between 1-75 into 36 boxes can also be a challenge. haha.. 5 rounds of Bingo and i have no luck. hmmmppph! Last round was pretty exciting! Gave up on my Bingo sheet and focus on Jill's. We were so close to win la! 1 more number and we can win. shucks! Really enjoyed myself last night! Hope everyone too! Its great to see most of the IVP gals are pretty warmed up with each other. Hope this year's team will be as great as last year's though it will not be the same. =)

I think SI is bullshit! pardon me but ya. ape je....nonsense and waste of time watching it.

Criminal Minds new season is out! yahoooooooooo!!! plus Bones too. double yay!

Celebrating Jamie's Birthdays. Jamie and the players who were under him =)

Louise, Alvin, Jill and myself =)

Jill and her gals =)

Alvin and Us! some of us....

My coaches!
The one who taught me how to play floorball (Jamie).
The one who groomed me to be a better floorball player (Jill).
The one who will further groom me (Alvin) =)

faith

Had an interesting conversation with my 2 coursemates today. We talked about religions, the existance of God, faith, beliefs...those sort of stuff. It was pretty interesting to understands what a free thinker believes in. The interesting thing is that, he believes in the existance of God. I thought free thinker don't. Maybe its him. Me and my the other friend called him a complex thinker instead of a free thinker cos he basically thinks too much! heehee....

It made me realised that, if you have a religion and you grow with that beliefs, life will be simpler. All you do is to accept as the way it is without the need for logical reasons or proof. That's what faith is. The more you try to seek for answers and proof, the more questions you will start to ask. It will never ends. Hope one day, he'll be enlightened and sees what he's been searching for.

On a random note, today's PT was goooooood. Had a good 30minutes run with some of the gals. More to come! Time to get fitter. woohooooo!

Okay, shall go and do my school work. haiz....so many things but so little time. Why can't floorball be part of a module? then I think i can ace in it. heehee....

Day 1 n 2 of Hari Raya

Okay! Day 2 of Hari Raya just passed. How fast time actually flies! Its already Tuesday!
Nothing much interesting things that happened during the 1st two days. as expected. This year's Hari Raya is a lil different. No more Ghim Moh (my grandmama's house), no more that small, cosy house where it got congested when lotsa people came to visit. A lil sad cos through out my 21 years, that was the place where we spent our first day of Hari Raya. That's life. constantly changing. Change is the only constant.

As i've mentioned, visitings are no longer as exciting as it used to be. Not because I won't be getting the green packets...just that excitement is no longer there. why??

Ever since I joined floorball and be part of the IVP team, i felt that i am lil health conscious. Everytime I eat some oily food, fattening junk food, there will be a guilty feeling that will pop out. like seriously. gosh! Today, at one of the house, there's Asam Pedas Ayam dish prepared for the guest...OMG! the gravy was like freaking oily! I felt i was eating rice with oil and chicken. gosh! Not that i'm not thankful or what, but seriously....really seriously. Then all the different colours of drinks, the different type of kuihs that went down my throat into my stomach. gosh...'sinful'. =P

I'm having a lil headache now. might be due to the constant exposure to the camera flashes from different cameras. Every minutes, there will be flash coming out from one of the cameras. Cam whoring is quite fun =P

Should i self declare another holiday again? my heart, more of laziness, says yes! hmmm....

Sunday, September 20, 2009

Its the morning of Hari Raya. yay! But it seems like just any other morning. Year after year, Hari Raya seems to be just any other public holiday to me. Nothing much that I look forward to. Why? No idea why. Visitings? No as excited as how it used to be years ago. Neways, Selamat Hari Raya to all my friends, brothers and sisters!

It has been a month since IVP training resumes. Shiok. Love the feeling to be back on court running around. New faces, new coach but same old place. Trainings are pretty alrights. Different drills every training. Everything about IVP training is fun. Its just me. Love everything about IVP =) Partner for this year, most prolly with SherylS. Building our chemistry. With more trainings and game, it will get better. right S?

This year, team seems pretty strong. but again, it has been 2 years that we have strong team with good coaches but the results were lil disappointing. hope this year will be better =) Advice from Jill: Stop thinking about having our faces up there. Okay! Point taken! Misses her trainings. =(

Yesterday was the day I've been looking forward to. Workshop in the morning and training in the afternoon. Me train during Hari Raya eve? YES! sounds crazy but ya, that's me! Workshop was pretty alrights. back to basics. its good to go back to basics. before that, there's PT. whole thing ended at 1230. drove down to NTU for training. pretty high during training. shiok! another session next week. no car for next week though. travel from one end to another then back to another end. gg. its okay, no more fasting, so should be pretty okay.

Training during Ramadhan was a real challenge. i survived! fasting is fasting but when time to give all out, it is still a must. heehee. now, no more fast, no reason for not chiong-ing. =) =)

NTU's new cheer, thanks to S: NTU..............................tew tew.
Serena's new version: NTU.............................wet wet. *yucks*

cut my right index finger yesterday while cutting ketupat. can feel the blade slice through my skin and lil of my flesh. Enough to activate my inflammatory response =)

I love the corner of my room. Got my brother to help me out with the drilling =)

9 free balls and a new stick

Now, i have free 9 floorball balls.....woohooo! heehee...
when first received the message, I thought it was a scam but Charmaine told me to just send since 1 sms cost 5c. so ya, why not. Then received a reply saying i got free 9 balls! yay! hahaha....
ooopppssss....forgot to forward the message to my brother. If not, we'll have 18 balls together. hahah.

Went down to the Fatpipe shop with Khai today. the original intention was to just collect the balls but the towkay (boss) introduced us some sticks (marketing strategy....)... we were the 1st 50 customer and because of that, we can buy this Doggy stick for only 39. Gosh, it was so tempting to buy one. So ya, we tested the sticks out. did some shootings. in the end, i gave in and bought 1 stick for myself. hahah...cost me 70bucks! heehee....quite happy with it.

the guy,the boss, is good. so friendly. and he gave us some tips how to do proper hard shots too. woohoo! learnt something new. not only i got free balls, i got some free tips too.....yay!

maybe next year will be 10 free balls....hahahah.

Shiok! 2 thumbs up!

I love today's floorball session. Friendly with TP.
Like the way I played and of course, I like my line for this friendly. yay!
Finally, managed to build my chemistry with Ah Seow. More to come huh...

In conclusion, everyone played well.

The disappointed part is the short playing time. Each line played for 2 periods and 1 shift. There's a good thing to it too, knowing we all have shorted playing time, everyone really put in their best so as to make sure they made use of the playing time given.

shiok!

I love Tuesday and Saturday. Thanks to floorball. yay!

Sunday, September 6, 2009

Its 2.40am and i'm still freaking awake! Haven't sleep since like 9am. I wanna sleep but I will wake up again at 4am for sahur (like breakfast). So, just stay awake till that time =)
Had quite a long, physically demanding day today (still assume its Saturday). actually, the physically demanding part was only like 2hours. hahaha.

Break fast @ my aunt's house just now. I seriously think that I cannot break fast at other places other than at home or at SRC. I felt that I ate alot. like alot. then before headed home, went for supper with mum and dad. shared my bee hoon goreng with my mum though. but still!

Starting to like IVP training (since when i don't like IVP training) under a new coach. The drills introduced were pretty new and interesting. peel away. sounds funny but cute.hahaha.
OMG, the warm up was really really warm up. Thought just jogging up and down at the side was just like jogging up and down. but in reality, its more than that. *faints*. I still like it and enjoy it! =)
Training wasn't as tiring as last Saturday's. Maybe it was the 800m run huh....hmmm...

Gosh, today i felt depressed after the game. not so depress but quite. never felt like that before. find myself ineffective, running around like some dunno and not getting the ball, even i received it, i kinda wasted it cos didn't make a proper stop or proper shot. urgh! received a nice pass but i blew it away. shucks! shall do better. have to la. hahaha.

the squad was cut down to 30 and it was quite shock (though not so shocking) that some players did not manage to be part of the 30. and some people have been asking me, how come this player, that player kena kick out? how the hell am i suppose to know? i'm not the coach. like seriously, i'm not the coach nor his assistant to know all those stuff. *faints* why not you ask him? he might see what we didn't see cos we all want to see what we want to see.

On some random thing, even though not so random...heehee...
I learnt that if you learn to open up your mind widely and be positive in 95% of the situation, you will look at things differently. You will be more appreciative, and you will enjoy almost every single thing that you are doing or were told to do.

In conclusion, I loveeeeeeee IVP training. Can't imagine after I grad and there'll b no more IVP. sob sob. must enjoy every moment!

shag
training on tuesday night and 0830 class the next morning...really not a good combination. i enjoy the training but not the morning lecture. heehee
